Indications 
lPost-operative, short-term compression to promote 
venous return after venous surgical intervention 
(ligatures, sclerotherapy, vein stripping, and thrombolysis 
therapy) and orthopaedic surgical intervention

 lCompression therapy to prevent oedema and 
haematomas
 lProphylaxis and therapy of venous leg ulcerations of 
immobile patients
 Mode of action 
lThe standardised pressure decreases continuously from 
the ankle up towards the thigh. 
lStudies confim the high degree of effectiveness of using 
mediven struva to accelerate venous return. 
lProviding a moderate compression of 23 mmHg, 
mediven struva is an effective alternative to  conven
tional compression bandages for the  corresponding 
indications.

 Measurement: 
1)  The circumference above the ankle the narrowest part (cB)
 2) The measurement taken below the knee, the broadest part of 
calf (cD)
 3) The mid thigh circumference (cG).
 4)  For calf take measurement (cB) & (cC) and for thigh take 
measurement at (cB), (cC) & (cG).
